Established in 1981, the Honduran American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM-HONDURAS) is an independent, voluntary, non-profit organization of business executives concerned with local community services and United States trade and investment. AMCHAM operates in conjunction with host country business firms and government through a wide spectrum of activities:

· To develop mutually prosperous and friendly economic, social and commercial relations between the United States and those of the host country.

· To foster and communicate the beneficial concepts of the free enterprise system.

· To promote local economic and social contributions which benefit the host country.

· To work in conjunction with the host government on mutually beneficial projects.

· To serve as a liaison between the Embassies and Consulates of the United States of America and the host country.
